Over the last week MillerSmiles has received many scams from the public and through its HoneyTrap scam detection system. Below we provide an analysis of the scams we have received for the week of

28th March 2015 to 4th April 2015

During the week we reported a total of 17 phishing scams

15 or 88% of these scams linked to websites that were still online and live, ready to capture personal data, when we reported them

The 12 most popular scams as defined by search engine visits to our archive of scams we reported this week and in previous weeks were (as percentage of all visits to the site)

  • 0.38% WARNING ! YOUR PAYPAL ACCOUNT WAS LIMITED ! alleged sender Paypal support team reported 1st April 2015
  • 0.36% Your Tesco Bank eDocument is ready alleged sender Tesco Bank reported 2nd April 2015
  • 0.35% YOUR ACCOUNT HAS BEEN LIMIT ,PLEASE UPDATE YOUR INFORMATION alleged sender PayPaI Support® reported 30th March 2015
  • 0.34% Apple Last Notice alleged sender Apple Helpdesk reported 30th March 2015
  • 0.32% WARNING ! YOUR PAYPAL ACCOUNT WAS LIMITED ! alleged sender Paypal support team reported 31st March 2015
  • 0.31% SECURITY UPGRADE ALART alleged sender Bank of America reported 31st March 2015
  • 0.31% Vodafone New Message alleged sender Vodafone reported 19th February 2012
  • 0.31% Personal Information Update alleged sender Wells Fargo Online reported 1st April 2015
