In this condensed version of its typical fraud prevention message, Pennsylvania Senior Medicare Patrol (PA-SMP) volunteer Meera Ramakrishna provides older adults, their families, and caregivers with the information and tools necessary to combat Medicare fraud, errors, and abuse. Additional specifics regarding COVID-19 scams are included to better inform the public about protecting themselves from malicious persons and entities who are preying on vulnerabilities made present by the pandemic.

The PA-SMP encourages anyone who suspects Medicare or COVID-19 fraud, errors, or abuse to call CARIE toll-free at 1-800-356-3606 or visit us online at, where help is always free and confidential.
