In the wake of the US Mid Term Elections we will discuss the early results on which Party will have the control of the House of Representatives and possible control of the Senate. Republicans and Democrats have both said that democracy is under threat from widely differing and divergent narratives. Pro-Life vs Abortion Rights is on the ballot in many States as is the state of the US Economy with high inflation and escalating interest rates.
The implications for former President Donald Trump are far reaching as the Democrat have been conducting hearings into his behaviour as President with particular attention to whether he incited violence on January 6th 2020. If the many candidates he endorsed in these elections are successful he is likely to formally announce his candidacy to become the Republican nominee for the Presidential Elections in 2024.
For President Biden the results will demonstrate whether he will become a so called lame-duck President for the remaining two years of his Presidential term of office.
