In this video, I wanted to share my experience with this Arts commission scam that circulates the artist community. If you have not experienced this scam you could be susceptible. I want to do play along and share are correspondence with the scammers. There are many red flags you should look out for:
Bad Grammar
Vague interest in work
Always buying it for a present, anniversary, or some other surprise
Always moving somewhere
Excuse about having to pay with check
Excess funds in check that goes to 3rd party
Excuses about not talking on the phone
Always inquiring about the check after sending it
Using Fedex(Most likely because using USPS bumps charges up to Federal crime)
