A romance scam occurs when a criminal adopts an online fake identity to gain a victim’s affection and trust. They will use that trust as leverage to steal money from the victim. How can you identify a romance scam? A scammer will NEVER meet you in person, they WILL request money from you, and they might request payment in odd or specific forms.
