Trilivy is the new name of the multi-level marketing arm of Medifast that was previously called Optavia or Take Shape For Life. The rebranding of the MLM portion of the company to the name “Optavia” occurred in 2017, and the ‘Trilivy” rebrand was done in 2026. The plan features ultra-low calorie diets built around meal replacements including powdered foods and small packets of tasteless foods. The company has been accused of being an endless chain recruitment scheme, and there is an ongoing fierce debate over whether Medifast is offering a pyramid scheme to its health coaches.
